I would never rely on Wikipedia as my main source of information for school. However, if I'm doing research unrelated to school, typically I will rely on Wikipedia because it does generally give correct basic facts.April Sigmundhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11649374797786392822noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1560585832214320333.post-64509758920461509662011-02-15T20:39:12.197-08:002011-02-15T20:39:12.197-08:00I recently heard somewhere, probably the INA conve...I recently heard somewhere, probably the INA convention, that a recent study showed that the number of factual errors in Wikipedia and a "real" encyclopedia were basically the same on a "per-entry" basis. Whether that's junk science or not, I usually only use it for context or to look up a weird philosophical term when I'm writing a paper.Ben Lucashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11041611628244091593noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1560585832214320333.post-69164917591104216942011-02-15T20:03:41.667-08:002011-02-15T20:03:41.667-08:00For me, I typically use Wikipedia as a background ...For me, I typically use Wikipedia as a background source to make sure I know the basics about the topic I have to research. But at least in my high school we were not even allowed to site Wikipedia as a source for our papers. For how unreliable it is it surprises me how many people actually use it as a reliable source, though.Erin Gerkenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12683410750559706763noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1560585832214320333.post-11530039782728576532011-02-15T19:59:16.049-08:002011-02-15T19:59:16.049-08:00The ever controversial Wikipedia. I do use the site when I'm working on a historical monologue and I need a refresher on the history surrounding the play.Alexa Smithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17740650921154590100noreply@blogger.com
